Radon Testing and Inspection

What is Radon?

Radon is a radioactive gas that comes from the natural decay of uranium found in nearly all soils, as well as some rocks and water sources. Radon moves up through the ground and into the air, then invades your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Your home traps radon inside, where it can build up and cause health issues like lung cancer. Radon is estimated to cause thousands of deaths a year, making it vital to get tested for high levels in your home. Radon can affect any type of home, from new and old homes to well-sealed or drafty homes, and homes with or without basements.

Testing for Radon

A+ Inspections approaches radon very seriously and takes the necessary steps to get an accurate assessment of radon levels in your home or building. Testing is the only way to know if you and your family are at risk from radon. EPA and the Surgeon General recommend testing all homes below the third floor for radon. Since radon is difficult to detect, even more than carbon monoxide and other dangerous gases, we do not recommend the use of at-home testing devices, as they may provide inaccurate results. Trust the radon inspection experts at A+ Inspections to give you an accurate radon reading in your home.
